US acetone contract prices for July rose 0.50 cent from June's mark to settle at 40.50 cents/lb, sources said.

The settlement was in line with market expectations, which called for a roughly flat settlement due to little movement in pricing because of stable fundamentals.

Supply was more balanced with demand now because of consumers performing maintenance and slowing demand, sources said, adding that imports helped to balance the market.

The settlement also came in the midst of stable feedstock refinery-grade propylene pricing that has been rangebound in the 22.75-23.25 cents/lb range since July 14, according to S&P Global Platts data. RGP was assessed at 23 cents/lb delivered on Tuesday, unchanged from Monday.

Spot acetone was assessed at $882-$904/mt (40-50 cents/lb) FOB USG Tuesday, with indications around that level.
