According to the data of SunSirs, the domestic maleic anhydride market price declined this week. As of September 25, the average market price of n-butane oxidation method maleic anhydride remained at 8,620.00 RMB/ton, down 0.92% from the price of 8,700.00 RMB/ton on September 19, and an increase of 13.42% month-on-month.

On September 25, the maleic anhydride commodity index was 81.58, the same as the previous day, down 50.98% from the highest point in the cycle of 166.43 points (2021-12-15), and up 59.40% from the lowest point of 51.18 points on April 14, 2020. (Note: The cycle refers to 2011-09-01 to the present)

  Analysis review

This week, the domestic benzene process maleic anhydride market was suspended. This week, the supply of maleic anhydride produced by n-butane oxidation increased, and the downstream entered the pre-holiday stocking cycle, but the purchasing sentiment of resin was general, stocking was cautious, and transactions were limited. As of the 25th, the solid maleic anhydride in Shandong was about 8,000 RMB/ton, the solid maleic anhydride in Jiangsu was about 8,000 RMB/ton, the solid maleic anhydride in Shanxi was about 9,500 RMB/ton, the solid maleic anhydride in Hebei was about 9,000 RMB/ton, and the solid maleic anhydride in South China was about 8,500 RMB/ton.

On the upstream side, the price of pure benzene rose this week. The average price of pure benzene on September 19 was 7,850.50 RMB/ton, and the average price of pure benzene on September 25 was 7,947.17 RMB/ton, up 1.23%. The ex-factory price of hydrogenated benzene in North China rose this week, at 7,866.67 RMB/ton on September 19, and 7,966.67 RMB/ton on September 25, up 1.27% in the week. In terms of n-butane, as of September 25, the price of n-butane in Shandong was 5,800 RMB/ton.

  Market outlook

The male anhydride product analyst of SunSirs believes that at present, the domestic benzene oxidation to produce maleic anhydride suffers serious losses, the factory has been shut down for maintenance, and the market supply is less; this week, the supply of n-butane oxidation method maleic anhydride has increased, and the downstream has entered the pre-holiday stocking cycle , but the resin purchase sentiment is general, the stocking is cautious, and the transaction is limited. It is expected that the maleic anhydride market may continue to decline in the near future.
