SunSirs: The Planned Increase in Acrylonitrile Production Capacity for the Fourth Quarter is Expected to Reach 910000 Tons

It is reported that the new acrylonitrile production capacity will increase by 910000 tons per year in the fourth quarter of 2024. Starting from October, Jilin Petrochemical's 260000 ton expansion new plant, Yulong Petrochemical's 260000 ton plant, Sinopec Ineos (Tianjin)'s 130000 ton plant, and Sinochem Quanzhou's 260000 ton new plant are all planned to be put into operation.

On August 1st, the acrylonitrile market price in East China ports was weak, with the mainstream self pickup reference price reaching 8500-8800 RMB/ton, a decrease of 200 RMB/ton from the low-end of the previous trading day.

According to Business News Agency, on August 2nd, the benchmark price of acrylonitrile was 8833.33 RMB/ton, a decrease of -0.38% compared to the beginning of this month (8866.67 RMB/ton).
