SunSirs: China's Raw Coal Production Decreased Year-on-year in the First Half of 2024

Recently, the China Coal Industry Association released the development of China's coal industry in the first half of the year. In the first half of the year, the production of raw coal decreased year-on-year, and the level of clean and efficient utilization of coal-fired power has significantly improved.

In the first half of the year, the production of industrial raw coal above designated size was 2.27 billion tons, a year-on-year decrease of 39 million tons. In May and June, China's hydropower output increased significantly, while wind and solar power generation grew rapidly. Thermal power generation decreased by 4.3% and 7.4% year-on-year, respectively, resulting in a significant reduction in coal consumption.
