SunSirs: The Output of New Materials of China Jilin Petrochemical Reached a New High again, and the Core Plant of 400,000 t/a Lotion ABS has also been Capped

Since the beginning of 2024, Jilin Petrochemical has accelerated the implementation of the new material acceleration project, focused on expanding and improving the proportion of new materials, and strengthened the marketing of new materials. In the first half of the year, it has produced 137,600 tons of new material products, a year-on-year increase of 39,900 tons. Its 400,000 t/a lotion ABS polymerization and chemical configuration plant under construction has been successfully capped.

Faced with the prominent contradiction between supply and demand of ABS and the downward pressure of the market, Jilin Petrochemical actively organized and carried out "production and sales research and development". Six special material grades of ABS products and two grades of SAN products achieved "excellent production and sales". Based on this momentum, it is expected to increase efficiency by more than 6 million RMB per year.

Jilin Petrochemical has established a "Low Density Polyethylene Youth Technology Innovation and Research Group" to seize the market and increase profits in polyethylene products. In the production process of DFDA-7042N and DFDA-2210 grades, self-developed optimized additive formulas are used, and the annual output is expected to reach 30,000 tons, with a total efficiency of nearly 200 million RMB.

In addition, in order to break the current situation of relying solely on imported catalysts for the production of ethylene propylene rubber and solve the problem of low ENB conversion rate, Jilin Petrochemical and Qingdao University of Science and Technology jointly carried out research and development of new catalysts for ethylene propylene rubber, producing more than 50 tons of new grade J-6095 ethylene propylene rubber. At present, Jilin Petrochemical is also the only enterprise in China that uses domestically produced new vanadium catalysts to produce ethylene propylene rubber products suitable for high value-added applications.

On July 24, after 15 hours of continuous pouring, the 400,000 t/a lotion ABS polymerization and chemical configuration plant constructed by the ABS Project Department of Jilin Petrochemical Company of the First Branch was successfully capped.

It is reported that the ABS polymerization and chemical plant has three floors and is a reinforced concrete structure. It is 23.64m high, 26m wide, 108m long, and has a building area of 8,470.41 m2. It is one of the core plants of the 400,000 t/a lotion ABS plant of Jilin Petrochemical. The topping out was completed in two stages. On July 13th, concrete pouring was carried out on axes 1 to 8, with a pouring volume of 254m³; On the 24th, secondary pouring was carried out on axes 9 to 18, with a pouring volume of 350m³.

On June 17, 2024, the 200,000 t/a bulk ABS unit and 400,000 t/a lotion ABS unit of Jilin Petrochemical Jilin Headquarters have been fully started. It is planned to be delivered in the first half of 2025. By then, the total ABS capacity of Jilin Petrochemical will reach 1.8 million t/a, ranking first in China and third in the world.
