SunSirs: Malaysia Natural Rubber Production Increased 14.9% Year-on-year and Decreased 5.2% Month-on-month in August, 2024

According to the Malaysian Bureau of Statistics on October 10th, the export volume of natural rubber in August 2024 increased by 19.2% month on month to 57,482 tons, unchanged from the same period last year. Among them, 25.8% are exported to China, followed by the United Arab Emirates at 20.1%, Germany at 10.1%, the United States at 9.6%, and India at 8.3%.
In August, the import volume of Malaysian natural rubber was 76,515 tons, a year-on-year increase of 26.2% and a month on month increase of 34.3%. Standard rubber, concentrated latex, and other shaped natural rubber are the main import categories, with their main source countries being Thailand, Cote d'Ivoire, the Philippines, Myanmar, and others.
The total monitored production of Tianjian in August was 35,979 tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.9% and a month on month decrease of 5.2%. Among them, the output of small plantations accounts for 88.1%, and the output of state-owned plantations accounts for 11.9%.
In August, Malaysia's natural rubber inventory was 127,876 tons, a month on month decrease of 13.7% and a year-on-year decrease of 10.6%. 88% of the inventory is concentrated in the hands of rubber processors, 11.8% in downstream terminal inventory, and 0.2% in large plantation owner inventory.
The total consumption of natural rubber in China in August decreased by 14.7% year-on-year to 21,451 tons, with a month on month increase of 2%. The latex glove industry remains the main force in Malaysia's natural rubber consumption, accounting for 59.3% of the total, tires and rubber hoses account for 9.2%, rubber threads account for 13.5%, and other industries account for 18%.
