According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of color coated sheet slightly increased this month, and the price was relatively stable after mid month. On December 1st, the market price of color coated sheet was 6,650 RMB/ton; On December 31st, the price was 6,850 RMB/ton. The average price of color coated sheet this month increased by 3.007% compared to the beginning of the month and decreased by 1.66% compared to the same period last year.

Analysis review

Galvanized sheet: The price of galvanized sheet had fluctuated this month, with a slight increase at the beginning of the month, reaching its peak in the middle of the month, and then starting to decline after the middle and late of the month, with both increases and decreases during this period. On December 1st, the price of galvanized sheet was 4,400 RMB/ton, and on December 31st, the price of galvanized sheet was 4,383 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.386% compared to the beginning of the month and a decrease of 16.22% compared to the same period last year. The downstream demand in the coating market was lukewarm, and market transactions were relatively weak.

Market outlook

Looking back at the steel market in December 2024, as of December 27th, the steel market has emerged from a volatile trend, with the comprehensive price index of steel falling by 8 points, thread and wire prices rising by 27 and 37 points respectively, medium thick plate and hot-rolled plate prices falling by 20 and 66 points respectively, cold-rolled plate prices rising by 53 points, iron ore prices falling by 1USD, scrap steel prices rising by 30 points, and coke comprehensive prices falling by 56 points.

Considering the arrival of the off-season, although most factories' costs continued to rise, their shipping mentality continued, and their offers remained strong at high levels. This month, most domestic facilities have started operating normally, but production and sales have not yet balanced, and inventory was accumulating. It is expected that the price of color coated sheets will remain stable in the short term.
