Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP is to commence construction on a 22 mln pound pa Ryton® polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) manufacturing facility at Texas. This new facility will boost the Borger facility's total PPS production to 44 mln pounds pa. The plant is scheduled for completion in 2009, and will share some infrastructure and operations with the existing Ryton® PPS plant.
Like the existing Ryton® PPS plant, much of the PPS polymer produced in Borger will be sent to Chevron Phillips Chemical's compounding facilities in LaPorte, Texas; Kallo, Belgium; and Tuas, Singapore, where it is compounded with glass fibers and minerals to develop resins with unique performance features.
Ryton® PPS is a high performance engineering resin known for it's dimensional stability and resistance to corrosive and high-temperature environments.Print | add to Favorites | Close
